Governors needed to feed into education commission

We have been invited to ask 25 governors to meet the Comissioners on the 31st October 10.30am-12pm.
Please email [email protected] if you would like to attend.

An update from the Outstanding for All commission is below:

Dear Head Teachers and Chairs or Governors

As you will be aware, earlier in the year, Outstanding for All – Haringey’s Education Commission, issued a call for evidence to feed into their inquiry into achieving rapid acceleration in standards in education in Haringey.

The Commission are keen to update you on the progress of their work following this and also to thank those who responded and so have today issued the attached letter (embedded below). We would be grateful if you could circulate this to your staff and governing bodies. We have also put packs of letters in the post to you so that you can share these more widely with parents, carers and pupils at your schools.

If you have any questions regarding this, please don’t hesitate to contact the Commission via [email protected].

Best wishes,

Tom Redfearn and Chloe Surowiec

And a further update on this from Carolyn Banks from Haringey Governor Support and Training Unit (GTSU):

I believe that the intention is for any interested governors to contact me. It would be helpful to ask for people to come forward about a week before the meeting and then I can do some targeting to fill any gaps if necessary.

Also, the Commissioners want to meet with a range of governors, across different schools, primaries, secondaries, special, those whose schools are outstanding, satisfactory, serious weaknesses, chairs, other governors, new governors, etc.

What do you think?
